The Sounds of Many are a Kansas City psych-rock five-piece with big hooks complemented by plenty of atmospherics. The band name is fitting — you’ll hear Hendrix, Radiohead, maybe some Primal Scream, a little post-Pearl Jam alt-rock. But it’s hard to call them a rip-off of any one of those bands — it’s the familiar sounds of many coming together into one beautiful whole.

The band plays Duffy’s Tavern on Oct. 1 with Omaha’s Box Eats Miah and Lincoln favorites The Groove Lagoon.
