Sweet Pill with Better Friend, Mad Dog and the 20/20s and Social Cinema
Philadelphia emo torchbearers Sweet Pill come to Duffy’s on an off day from their tour supporting The Wonder Years.
They’ve drawn comparisons to Paramore and the big names from the 2000s, but don’t call it emo revival or fifth wave or whatever. The band’s 2022 debut “Where The Heart Is” is more like post-emo-revival or proto-whatever’s-going-to-happen-next. But like Hayley Williams, Sweet Pill frontperson Zayna Youssef is the undisputed star of the show. Real rock star energy.
They’ll be joined by Social Cinema, Mad Dog and the 20/20s. Plus, the return (and perhaps last show??) of Better Friend.
