SCAMMERS was started in 2010 as a solo project by Phil Diamond, originally calling itself No Nigerian Scammers. NNS played mostly as the resident house band of the Pistol Social Club, opening for bands like Future Islands, Lower Dens, Child Bite, and other cool as hell underground touring acts.

After losing a lot of gear to bad trades, NNS was dissolved. Phil went on to form a doom metal duo called Positive Feedback with his friend Aaron, but their unparalleled lust for SUNN amps ended up getting out of control, and Phil eventually realized that he couldn’t write a good metal song anyway.

In June of 2011, SCAMMERS re-formed as a husband/wife duo, with Phil & performance / visual artist Sarabeth Dunton-Diamond. They released the Crucial Sesh EP, which was recorded during a slight recess between more important bands at the America: Now & Here exhibit. The tape exists as both No Nigerian Scammers & Scammers, the former from their first tour in the southwest, the latter still available today.

After two more tours, they released the album AIRLINER in December 2011 as a tape only deal. Beginning in February 2012, it is available on CD.

They’re currently booking a 3 week long tour for April 2012.
